Sad Eyes: How Do You Deal With A Broken Relationship?

It is not unusual to experience heartbreaks whether you are the one who’s left behind or you are the one leaving. The end result is still the same – pain. However, there are things that you can do in order for you to deal with your broken relationship so that you can move on and make it easier to breathe.

1 – Don’t stop yourself from crying

When you are in pain, it is alright to cry. It is not a sign of weakness but it is a sign of acceptance that you are in pain. You are in a process wherein you are thinking about your past mistakes or where the relationship has gone wrong. Crying allows you to feel all of it. But, it is also important not to wallow yourself over it. You did what you could and the breakup is not only yours to bear. There are two of you in the relationship so the blame is not yours alone.

2 – Reevaluate the relationship

It is important that you assess what was wrong in the relationship. What was the cause of the breakup? If you know the real cause of the breakup, you will easily recognize whether the root cause is repairable and amenable to make the relationship work. It will take the two of you to decide to work on the shortcomings but one person can decide to truly end it up. Have you contributed on the cause for it to end?

3 – Acceptance of your decision

If you initiated the breakup, there is no point trying to take back what you already decided. The other party will decide whether the decision is beyond repair. You, on the contrary, must accept that your decision is already set. If you feel sorry for the decision, it will make you appear very fickle. It will not help you move on.

4 – Keep the space

Soon after breakup, it is important that you keep your space. Being friends with your ex will happen later but not at the moment of separation. If you plan to move on, this is not the ideal thing to do. Even if it means cutting all means of communication, you have to do it in order to put it all behind.

Dealing with a broken relationship may not be easy but you can definitely do with the right frame of mind and with the support of those people who cares about you.
